Learn how Federal Premium® is helping to protect and manage wildlife and habitat across the country.
The North American Model of Conservation
In the 1930's Federal Premium Ammunition actively promoted the establishment of the Wildlife Restoration Fund, a critical source of revenue for state and federal wildlife management agencies to scientifically manage wildlife. The fund is generated by the Pittman-Robertson Tax, a special excise tax on firearms and ammunition that generates funds exclusively for wildlife management and hunter education.
This model has proven to be the most stable and successful method of protecting and managing wildlife and habitat in the world.
At Federal Premium Ammunition, we have a deep commitment to do more. As we look toward the future of hunting, shooting and wildlife management we have identified a need to invest in two key areas: Recruitment and Habitat
Recruiting New Hunters And Shooters
Since 1934, we have invested in 4-H Conservation Camps and 4-H Shooting Sports Programs. We offer discounts to participants in youth shooting sports programs, and sponsor training programs that certify new instructors in the Boy Scouts and 4-H. We support programs that are innovative and effective at helping recruit the next generation of conservationists.
INVESTING IN WILDLIFE MANAGERS
In cooperation with the Wildlife Management Institute, we support the Conservation Leaders for Tomorrow Program to help teach future wildlife managers the value and role that hunting and the shooting sports play in conservation.
Ducks Unlimited and the Grasslands for Tomorrow Program. Pheasants Forever and the Build a Wildlife Area. Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's Land Protection. These organizations, and groups like them, are working to protect wild places, and to secure your access to visit and hunt them. Join us in investing in these efforts.
